Some interesting research here. It seems Australia's GFC stimulus was quite moderate by global standards.
And only a small portion of our stimulus was directly targeted at housing (the FHOG boost).

Really. Factories that would have been overseas, were instead built in the US because of stimulus funds. Factories that will be providing jobs in 20 years.
