Our two 500W (they actually have 150W lamps in them, 500W being ridicululous even for a large garden) halogen lights have been turned off at the internal switch for years because they cost too much to run.
Does anyone have experience of the 10W LED types...

Good light.
It's not an LED, but we got one of these recently; if it's just bodged into a normal security light housing, it won't be very bright or have a long life.

Where ever I buy a house will or should I get full security with cameras and lights? No matter the cost? Just to protect the property. Just very curious, cause I'm worried about the riff raff coming into my neighborhood if i were to live in a bad place...

:) Web into a safe neighborhood than to buy into a questionable one and then installing all sorts of security.
If you move to Calabasas you wouldn't be nearly as concerned .

I would like to mount outside a hardwired motion activated security flood light.
My question: is it possible to mount a motion dector in one spot and the light in another, maybe about 20 feet apart? If so what would I need to purchase to accomplish this...

I have one of these without the PIR but with a photocell for dusk to dawn use.
It has failed and I tried to get a replacement bulb but could only get a 'similar' one which didn't work (it fitted but failed to light up reliably)
