Every shot in the OT moved the story along in some way, I actually seem to remember Lucas interviewed at one point saying that he was brutal with himself - if it didn't move the story forward, it had to go, even if he might have enjoyed spending some ...

I've noticed something; the second game in a game trilogy is often not as well received as the first and third. Take Zelda II, Super Mario Bros. 2, Castlevania II, and Metroid Prime 2 for example; they all were the worst received of their respective trilogies...

Not a trilogy, but still a good game.
Were quite different from the rest of the series and it's often seen as an oddity by most fans.
