I'm fortunate to have Sonics Scenarist authoring software so don;t need Avid DVD to anything but the simplest jobs so wouldn't even attempt to do what you are doing with Avid DVD (not to say it can't)
But for Scenarist I'd definately have....

I am reaching the capacity limit of my Time Machine drive.

The "Delete all backups of selected files" will work for the old files, but I'm not sure it will do Easy VHS to DVD conversions, imports of movies from my Flip video camera, etc.

DTS (DVD or DTS-CD) to DVD-A If you are looking to take a DTS stream from a DVD and burn it to a DVD-A for use in the car, it can be done... but.... it is kind of a pain in the ass to do. There are many steps involved and it takes quite a while to complete...

I cannot finish anything on my Roxio 8. It used to work. All of it does until you come to bhe burn or anything to do with actually making a DVD or CD. It always says no drive selected. Why is this?

The sub-menu has buttons understand how this affects the DVD itself? Yes it would be much simpler but is there a solution other than that? when I put it in the DVD....

I tried using DVD+RW (Memorex) and DVD+R (Memorex).
Are the discs playing in any DVD players that you might have? not just the recorder.
Old DVD players will not play the + format or RW discs at all.

Simply select the section of the track you want.
Just right click any recorded track and select "Make Ringtone" from the shortcut menu and bitmap of that track will appear.
Favorite song in three clicks.
