Thinking about putting a cast iron pan in a self cleaning oven for recoating of the pan. Anyone know how hot a self cleaning oven gets? How hot can I get my pan before I have an issue?

Push it in and hold it until.
The door latch rotated: the "door open sensor" is the same sensor that controls the oven light.
Held down door open sensor with oven in off position.
Problem solved.

The more often you run the clean cycle, the les smoke it will make at each cleaning.
To clean the oven when it's cool or cold outside, and I clean mine a few times per year (once in hot weather).

I have to turn on the exhaust and open allVery infrequently! Usually before the major holiday cooking\baking so I use the self clean cycle.
cleaning it every 3 months or so with the self-clean cycle.
