I have a couple of programs that are old shows (no new first runs) and have them set to record as a series. I set them up to only keep 2 mainly because these programs are shown multiple times a day and I don't want to fill the DVR up with them. It works...

Move the series to the bottom of your series manager and it will no longer cause conflicts with any of your other recordings.

Whenever I search for a show or a sports team and then try to record the event with the iPad app it sets a series recording even if I don't want to record a series. Also, I'm not given the option to change the recording settings first. What the ...?

If you press OK you get a menu to choose single/series and other.
And, you do not get to set any options.
If you get two hits on one push you get a series.
Push for single episode, two for series.

If not then maybe try press record again, maybe a new series started or different....
On the day of the episode it should then show up as recording but if you look on the schedule some times it does not show up but it does on the day..

This only recently started. WMC seems to have problems recording series programs. It does record single movies, but not series. I see the red recording button on the system tray indicating a recording in progress, but opening WMC, it does not show up ...
