Hi, I've setup a Server 2003 R2 as AD & DC. I created some test users on the dc. I also setup a Server 2003 R2 as a Terminal Server. I got licensing etc. working. What i cant get to work is that users can login to the terminal server. What i dont understand...

The terminal server will check the DC by being joined to the AD domain that your....
Have you joined the terminal server to the AD domain? Without joining it to a domain you will only be able to use local logins on the terminal server.

Windows Server 2003 R2 was a new release of the Windows Server 2003 OS-on to the base Windows Server 2003 OS (unlike W2K8 R2, which is a new release of the OS).

As previously mentioned the domain admins group gets added by default not an account .
Always create a domain level group and add that to the local group on the server.

I have only done this on BIND9, but I know its possible to do on the Windows Server 2003 DNS server....

What you need is "split horizon" or "split brain" DNS, which Windows Server 2003 DNS.

Thats your best bet to support the new Windows 7 .
Go with Windows Server 2008 R2.
IMO 2008 has proven itself as worthy a replacement to 2003.
