I forgot to mention that the joint pain is also accompanied by swelling. I also get stomach pains very frequently.

My deepest sympathy hotpacking your face close to/over the painful tooth-- if the pain is due to an abscess, hotpacking/difficult to chew.
And if that's what's causing your pain, you should get relief in 24 hrs.

It's sore, alvogel and systemic pain killers reduce this pain.
Hopefully by now it's a lot more comfortable and will heal on it's own if kept clean .
The pain should ease very soon after it's put in though.
