I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share their opinions on what they like the most about being a PA. More specifically, what is it that you like best about your job that is an advantage over being a physician?

Should i make sure to know majority of the things about the human body before shadowing a doctor? So I don't look like an idiot when he's explaining things or asks me a question for fun. I've never done shadowing, so I'm really not sure where to start...

For shadowing, I hear that around 50 hours is the norm. Should that be broken up between several specialties? If I did like... 10 hours each in 5 specialties, is that...

On a personal note, two weeks of shadowing one physician for a total the trick.
With a physician to obtain such a letter, but if you have no other way shadowing for an extended period (a week or more) should do the trick.

I'm having a heck of a time finding volunteer and shadowing opportunities. The only luck I've had so far was with a hospice, I had a little patient contact until they realized I had computer experience (which they needed) and immediately set me to work...
