Shake Hands

I wouldn't consider it rude if someone refused to shake my hand, but I have no problem with it myself. If someone has the flu they can pass it on to you in other ways like coughing or using the same bathroom as you. I understand why some take every precaution during the flu season, so I'm not bothered by their refusal to shake my hand. source

Try to control it and channel that energy to a place where no one can see it. If I get nervous I just transfer that energy to another part of my body that no one is going to notice. Usually when I'm walking around I transfer that energy to my hands because no one would look at my hands. In this case you want your hands to stop shaking, control that energy and do something like wiggle your toes. No one can see your toes wiggle inside of your shoe. That's just an example, you don't have to use that one. You can do whatever you like so people can't see your nervousness. source

One thing I'm noticing is that most referees in my area prefer fist bumping to handshakes with the players. We still do handshakes with the coaches and each other. With the spread of H1N1, I see more going to fist bumps. And age, level or sex doesn't seem to make much difference. It probably has more to do with the coaches' view on sportsmanship. source
