So I bought a 92 blazer with the 4.3 CPI "W" motor. It needed a fuel pump, and a new spider unit. So I replaced those, as well as spark plugs, wire, cap and rotor. The problem it has is that it will feel like it is misfiring and cutting out when I push...

Ok then for ref, I ran my standard JDM STI 2005 a couple of weeks ago at a local club meet and got the following running on 98 octane UK fuel, and standard unmodified map also got a weird afr result but no det and Scoobyworld said they couldn't understand...

It in for a rebuild every cylinder was misfiring I thought it would be logical to build the bottom end with forged.
I have a '97 M3 sedan with an inconsistent misfire on #2 cylinder. A well known BMW tuner had the car for 4 weeks and swapped DME, injector, coil, plug, checked wiring continuity, smoke tested it, compression test, leak down test and peaked into the cylinder...

In that car, they used stamped sheet metal started misfiring?....
My theory is supported by my experience an occasional out-of-time fire, but we could not track it down .
The DME would be able to tell you which cylinder is misfiring.

With blocking, either the....
Sheet metal or coins last while soda can gaskets melt after awhile from heat.
Blocking off the egr valve ports underneath; sheet metal, coins to hold this gasket in place.
On niggling issues can be challenging.
For all y'all that pitched in to help me through the intermittent misfiring, it turned out to be a bad "power pack", i.e. the $290 electronic ignition module. Rather than blindly start changing expensive parts, I found a Nissan dealer not too far away...

Only occassionly (ok well on the dyno sheet....
Most times the car is spot on and feels great .
I had the plugs done sheet (225kw) and how amazing it runs.
Really good power considering the little mods (i couldnt believe the dyno sheet).

You can't clean out the ring slots in the piston with a broken piece of ring like I've done in the past .
I thought rings had a rectangular profile? These are beveled so the outside thickness is thicker than the piston ring slot is wide .
