Are solid shifter bushings worth buying?
Got mine from neverneverman, great little cheap effective mod. Defo feel the difference, nice clunk when shifting up.

Cable shifter?
My 914 has a cable shifter from a Boxster matched up to a 915 transmission which the prior owner installed. I'll be honest in that the shifting isn't the best. Sometimes its not in gear when you think it is or it is hard to find the right gear when shifting. I'm hoping it can be adjusted to get some improvement but we shall see.

Opinions of Mopar Short Shifter?
The main reason I want a STS is because when I shift to second gear on the stock shifter the knob is always really close to my right leg and it annoys me. Will the 2nd gear be noticeably shorter with this STS?

Easy-effort trigger shifters?
Upgrading cables will help, as well as new shifters. The LX shifters use bushings while the new XT M770 I believe uses bearings in the shifters along with instant release for very smooth and quick shifting.

Smoothest MS3 shifter?
Err, it doesn't get any smoother than the stock shifter. My Cobb STS is pretty close to stock in terms of smoothness after break-in. All aftermarket shifters go for a reduction in throw so they're all going to feel a bit stiffer and notchier than stock. Not too sure what you're really trying to ask TBH.
