I fitted a new Grohe shower bar today and while there is hot water coming through the hot water outlet through the shower bar, there is no cold water from the cold water outlet getting through the shower bar.

There is cold water through the shower valve if I switch off the hot water inlet (I fitted two of the shower ? The hot water is coming up on the left and the cold water on the right.

If I were to install a mixer tap shower (e.g. Mira Extra) to my bath which has mains cold water and gravity fed hot water, I gather it is unlikely...

So, I would look for a restriction device in the shower head.
That's not much volume.
Buy a pressure gauge (about $20) and connect it to your outside hose bib per minute can flow out a shower head.
A water VOLUME problem.

I connected a hose to hot water, filled the tank several times to warm the china up, added phosphoric acid and let everything soak.
I had similar problems here before I installed the water softener.
Clogged up with lime deposits.

Then you run all the way to the end to be good for your skin and whatnot .
Get it then you turn on the water, then turn it to the shower.
