You have a D90 and you know nothing about shutter speed? You need to use Shutter Priority mode shutter speed (1/4000).
What are the slowest shutter speeds that the 550D chooses before increasing sensitivity?

With adjusting aperture and watching what happens with ISO and shutter speed at 18 and 55mm might; I think indoor test with adjusting aperture and watching what happens with ISO and shutter speed happens with ISO and shutter....

But it's exactly the same for shutter speed! A larger shutter-speed number indicates a shorter....
Getting" shutter speed but seem to get confused with aperture because a larger F-number indicates a smaller aperture.
If you use an external flash, the exposure time in all settings other than S or M modes will be the same setting you set in the custom menu flash/bracketing - flash shutter speed. But the fastest speed in that menu is 1/60 sec which might not be fast ...

All you need to do the shutter speed,....
I tried, unsuccessfully, to get Nikon to explain the intended purpose of the Flash Shutter Speed duration (usually 1/900s or shorter.) You don't need a fast shutter speed.

Agreed, i would say through a given lens ....
In your photo is determined by three variables (ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture) and not just aperture variables (ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture) and not just aperture on its own.

Too bad trigger a switch or circuit on some kind of flashbulb holder as the shutter is fired its a geiss synchro external synchroniser....

On each of your photos you list the f-stop at 5.6 .
Usually, the slower the shutter speed, the higher the f-stop.
You could have increased your ISO.
Still, a good job illustrating the difference in shutter speed.

You're setting the shutter ....
It's called Synch Speed.
By the time the flash is fired the shutter is already partially the shutter open completely when the flash fires.
