It seems there are many options for a HTPC. im not seeing any kind of matrix comparing the various "front-ends" such as windows media center, xbmc or mediabrowser. that might come in handy....

Don't forget to look into the silicondust HD Homerun Prime network attached CableCARD tuner, it makes more sense in my mind to go with the HDHomerun Prime.

I'm not an expert, but I read that in the "HDHomeRun Prime + SageDCT" thread.
It's based on the silicondust hardware and seems to behave very similarly to the HD without a cablecard.
That costs about $110.

I am considering adding a cable card tuner to my Sage setup. I know there are currently 3 main options:
2-tuner usb from Hauppaugue
3-tuner ethernet from Silicon Dust
4-tuner PCIe from Ceton
I know each requires one M-stream cable card.

I have two Silicon Dust HDHomerun tuners working.
I went Silicon Dust very good on this, Hauppauge just fair .
Went with SiliconDust Prime and SageDCT on WHS 2011.
I have been happy with the combo.
