To start an investment there are several good bullion coins.
It really depends on the coin as well.
Well, with bullion coins, you will always have to pay a premium.

I notice people selling post 1980 fifty cent coins on eBay stating they're sterling silver. I can't find anything on the net about that. They all have the usual crest on the back. Are they sterling or are they bs*ing?

I have a half dozen books on the subject, and I was unprepared for just how much better...
