Do silver dollars ( when they were silver ) have the same amount of silver as an American Eagle silver dollar? Just wondering about that.
Thanks for any help.

They are sold as silver and meant to be stored....
American Eagle silver coins are bullion coins, i.e.
The Eagles are 1.0 oz of silver.
The old silver dollars minted before 1936 have only 0.77344 oz of silver.

I have a 1965 silver dollar that the word "D.G. REGINA" is slightly up on the 1965 than the 1967. Is this normal?
1965

Maybe somebody else has one? that we could compare? ... .
I was thinking about that too, but I dont have another 1965, And this was the closes thing I got to a 1965 .
You should compare the alignment to other 1965s to tell if there's anything unusual .

This is a 1966 canadian silver dollar. I am assuming this is not a rare small bead type. The I does almost seem to point to a bead which is why I am in question.

Forgive me, I am not a coin collector. I ran across these coins in my bedroom. We are moving and these were in an old humidor from my grandparents house.
I was told they might have some value, and decided to make an account on this forum to ask for some...

A good idea to....
Leave them the way they are..don't clean them with anything .
You should be able to get several thousand dollars for them.
Those two dates are the two most difficult to find (and most valuable) of circulated Morgan dollars .

Hi Bogleheads,
I have a small coin collection from childhood that I am thinking of selling due to the high price of silver right now, and the expectation that silver prices should go back down to historical averages. I have about 100 circulated Morgan...

I'm curious as to why you'd settle for just the silver value? Many Morgan and Peace dollars for just the silver value? Many Morgan and Peace dollars, even at the lower mint states, are selling! You'd probably be lucky....
