Just visited the RCM's website and noticed that the coins in the 2012 fine silver proof set are struck twice at a lower than normal speed for a "high definition" finish.
Not exactly sure what that means, but it will interesting to compare the proof coins...

What do you guys think of this set? Max Mintage is 20,000 and all (8) coins are .999 fine silver
2012 Canadian Proof Silver Set
Buy or pass at $225 US & only 20,000 sets world wide
But ALL Coins are .999 silver even the penny and nickel
Just wondering...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at collectors):
Well I like the .99....
Silver will have to increase drastically franklin mint GP stuff...
BUT what down to this: you either like the issues or do not. .
So it is 999 silver....big deal...
We have another edition...
Individually and voila...

Has anyone ever seen a silver proof nickel that has a cameo or any contrast at all?
Just curious as I have only seen watery examples - nice looking but zero cameo or contrast.
So anyone ever see any?

Mind you, I've seen fairly few proof warnicks to begin with.

They are encapsulated still.
Yes, that is a fair price for the proof set from what I have seen.
I think it depends on the overall.
The silver bicentennial 3-coin set lists at $29 on numismedia.

I purchased a large lot of various foreign proof sets containing anywhere from 1 to 3 oz of silver each. Got them back of melt which at the time seemed like a good idea. I dont think I would do this again but they are mine now
Should I
