Our town, Bend made the top 25 Ski Resort towns in the World according to National Geographic. Mainly from the Microbrew climate from what I can tell.

Just booked flights to Geneva for me and a mate for the end of Jan We're meeting up to look at resorts and accommadation tomorrow. We stayed in Chatel last year and really enjoyed it despite the lack of snow. Can anyone recommend any other good resorts...

I like it there but the ski areas are spread down the valley so you tend to get the ski bus down from....
Chamonix is lovely resort but the ski area is very town.
To ski area and if après ski is important to you.

I am wanting to take my kids to a ski in or ski out resort in January 2012 and hit the slopes. I have found a few TS locations on RCI that are ski in, ski out, or serviced by a lift or gondola that look great, however I wanted better info to make my decision...

At the Canyons (Westgate and Grand Summit), but they have more of a ski valet to/from the gondola than an actual "ski out." The Marriott at Park City also has "ski in," if you cut across the pool area I've listed.

There are ski a bunch of good ski-in ski-out spots and it too tends to have better conditions than Panorama.
Panorama is a good spot for families, but they always seem to miss all the snow .

Drove from Sun Peaks to Big White this morning on what was a stunning day. Jaw droppingly beautiful scenery along the way, but it was what met me on the hill that brought it all flooding back.
THIS, is why I ski here.
