I have been thinking about this but have not tried it yet as my first experience with biopllets caused my leathers to bleach ,but if one has a good sized skimmer and put a filter bag with biopellets in the skimmer body wouldnt one get very good skimming...

135gal DT with 20L sump with baffles.
Skimmer is Reef Octopus 160 (the one with the pump underneath)...
it sits in the sump in 9inches of water as per the instructions.
I bought it new and have had it for about 18months...

Skimmer didn't come with a gate valve? Or at least a way will give you more control over the water level in the body.
