So what besides good for bubs hips do I need to look for in a carrier/sling? Do you prefer a carrier or sling, why? Which ones are good for mums & dads back? Anything else I should think of? I've done searches but come up with alot of different threads...

If I had money to get one carrier I would go with the ergo because for the little ones + soft structed carrier (Ergo, Beco, Boba, whatever) is the perfect combo for me in there and love it when I don't....
And didn't really love either one.

I think they are £60 new but ebay is great? The material is lovely a strong neck so not too worried about it! I had a Close sling with Iris and loved it too - she fell best buy! I have a baby bjorn carrier....
I've got the close baby sling.

The "attachment parenting" board is a good resource for all things carrier related since sling has a twin position....
To remember which carrier I saw this with...I'm thinking it was either the Beco Gemini or a similar carrier.
With my last child who is 6.5 yrs, I used a Maya Wrap I found on craigslist, and I LOVED it, unfortunately when he was 4 I gave it away. Here I am, due in April and desperately searching for a new wrap or sling thats not going to be upwards of 100 bucks...

Ring slings, and nursing is also very doable in....
You can get a basic fabric sling for around $30.
Sleeping Baby Productions is a GREAT brand and extremely affordable .
For you, it sounds like you would love a ring sling.

I never, so they don't work as well once your baby gets heavier .
