No.Disability pension is considered earned income because it is from an insurance co and you or your employer paid for it.The government is giving you your disability it is not taxable so it is not earned income .

I just finished my 2011 taxes. We have two exemptions and use Married Filing Jointly (MFJ).
Out of curiosity, I did a "What If" using only one exemption and filing Single. I just wanted to see what the tax implications were of being a widow or widower...

I was wondering how many Veterans out there are considered unemployable by the VA but have been denied by Social Security for Disability Insurance. I'm 50 yrs old and have paid into Social Security since i was 16. I have now been denied by Soc Sec 3 times...

Sleep Apnea is not a listed SSDI disability....
First, normally it takes one 100% disability for Social Security to rate your disabled .
The VA and Social Security have different rules and somethings that the VA considers disabling are not by Social Security .

Sister lived with bro and wife all year. She rec'd approx $8000 soc sec, and $3300 maintenance(under the gross amount). Bro says she did not pay rent, food, utilities, nothing towards the home where she was living. He's not sure where she spent her money...
