It or not, long socks with tailored shorts were a requirement at my club for some time before they choose in the short/sock combination within reason.
I was watching some DG vi'ds and see people wearing knee high socks. Why? Is it to help with scratches in the woods? Does it help against Poison Ivy? I know it won't help with bug bites. Just wondering. Thanks, Turbine

Footsmart.com has a trouser sock with a special knit wedge in the back to accomodate wider legs.
Macy's "charter club" brand.
Of trouser socks---they are very ample---these might work well for you.
