Please who have an idea on how to put a mosfet between solar panel and battery in order to ON/OFF charging the battery through solar panel, the problem is the mosfet will be between V+ ( of the solar panel ) and V+ of battery, can i use simply a bottstrap...

From what I can find almost all solar panels are 12v, so how do you handle charging higher voltage banks?

Even panel is 48v, but the trick....
My household solar array routinely runs at 360-440 volts.
These days "most" solar panels are closer to 40 volts, for grid-tie applications, and are often connected in series for up to 600 volts.
