I'm interested in building a 3D model of our solar system for web use (probably with AS3 and papervision) and have been looking into how I would go about encoding the planetary positions. My idea was to download the already calculated positions from NASA...

There are several threads about the stars and stuff, but I found some
of the most interesting sci-fi was set not in remote stellar systems, but
closer to home, such as the moon, or mars etc.
At the same time, the solar system is a little easier to get...
