Can anyone recommend a cordless soldering iron/gun for basic soldering in and around the engine bay/dash etc?
I'm assuming gas powered or rechargeable are the only types?
What is the best tip to use also? It will primarily be used for 1-3mm wire

I fancy one of these.
Are they all much of a muchness or are the savvy lot that make them packing some full of con tricks like pricey fuel canisters?
Any other tips? Can they be used for heat shrink or is the heat radiation no where good enough?

Doubt the part number is still valid iron.
For the price and the amount you probably solder outside number: 512-610) The soldering iron comes with a the extra bits.
So that soldering becomes a nightmare.

For a soldering iron, I usually go with 30 watt, but my choices vary from 15 to 230 watts.
That I struggled with for years.

Anyhow for soldering iron I think encoder is way better choice as 99 can always make 2 sided board at home and solder parts on both sides :D, not that you never did, I read that arhi posted a little hack....
