Is 30 watt soldering iron hot enough for soldering battery connectors? I need to get a soldering iron to add some trx connectors to my lipos and wondering if a 30watt is strong enough??

Ray Don't by a cheap one as imho the tinning is usually crap and the solder won't adhere to it which makes them a pita to use.
Wait for Aldi to come out again with their gas soldering iron, best thing since sliced bread.

Anyhow for soldering iron I think encoder is way better choice as 99 can always make 2 sided board at home and solder parts on both sides :D, not that you never did, I read that arhi posted a little hack....

Raise your hand if the high point of the finger grooves on the Glock 19/23 catch you right in the middle of each finger. Annoying isn't it? That combined with the slippery factory gen 3 texturing had my 19 sliding damn near out of my hand a few times....

It takes a few seconds for it to solder 8awg wire but it still gets the job done iron...
Rather than get excited about the iron, I think the solder itself is a more for about 17 years.
But it is a little bulky...

I found few minutes to redraw my soldering station driver so I can send it to itead before I go to vacation :) ... software is still not done (the old one works but is not using encoder, not reading thermocouple properly etc etc ..)

I'm in the market for a new Butane soldering iron/torch.
The only two I've used enough to make judgement on are the little $15 Bernzomatic they sell at HD/Lowes, and the Master Ultratorch.
