Need help writing songs!
Alright so im pretty good with chords and that yet i have trouble writing lyrics or a title to a song and it really bugs me so does anyone have any helpful tips or anything?

I know a lot of the board members on here write their own music. But I was wondering what the process is like for you guys when it comes to writing songs. Do you build off of a single motif or theme? Or do you construct an outline for the song and work...

I don't know your background, but write with the guide lines of good jazz theory.

I've always wondered how much Chris was involved in the writing process and if some of the Rise Against songs were his completely, if any one knows anything I'd love to hear it?
I've always heard he wrote Paper Wings but I don't know that for sure.

Who here plays an instrument? Anyone ever tried writing songs? I've been playing guitar since I was 15 or so, but I am not as good as I could or should be at this point. I haven't played with any consistency for the last 10 years, but I still love it....

I've been playing guitar since I was about 15, and in a past life I tried writing some songs.
I played consistently if I like it.
I play the drums.
I can write a mean parody if so inspired, though.

My approach to writing is just to play what ever chords my fingers land on and if they hit a nerve I will just start singing out some random words with some random melody and then pile what ever feels right on top. I really love my method as it makes ...

That said I recently wrote purely from it or had the title generate at the exact same time as the music, but to write purely from a title was one of the few things that had ....
Side but that's about the only overall trend my writing shows.

What you are saying is that if you add the song to another iTunes all information is lost and Title/Artist/Album will be blank? Is that correct? when you change the song or album info on the itunes interface (correcting the ID3 tag info)....
