Tannoy PRESTIGE speakers
i have browse thru the catalogue and have no clue what is the line up. anybody has prior experience and shade some lights on it..
how do they sound? let's say against Harbeth series M40.1 or SHL5.

Hi! I wonder why Tannoy RED 12 and 15 (old models with paper surrounds 1960 year) are so expensive on ebay? Are they really so good? Or it kind of rarity?

The sound: : Iam trying to understand if Altec 604 and Tannoy RED 12 are more or less on the same level of sound sound very nice.
A cult following has built up around the old Tannoy drivers, why I don't know.

Good day, please help to identify if this Tannoy red 12 driver is original or was repaired/reconed. Cone of this driver is more dark comparing to pictures in the internet....so i have some doubts that it was restored.
Will be greatfull for help.

No authority on Tannoys, but I have a new set of cones and foam from Tannoy direct for HPD385 are usually more costly.

I don't know if its me or not, but can anyone tell whats being said on tannoy. Is setting too loud so it makes it sound all muffled or what ?
I wouldn't be pleased if i were sponsoring a player who had scored, then listen to it being announced and can...

Hi everyone.
Iv got the above 5.1 system that just doesnt seem to be performing. Iv also got an old sony htk250 which to me is sounding much better, which seems crazy given its age and cost of the 540. The effects just seem to move around the room better...

The Dynamic as well invest in a new subwoofer - reading around, it seems the tannoy one isnt overly well thought
centre speaker £100 ish....
As far as sound is concerned make sure to start off all speakers are set to 0dB.
And it is excellent.

Good day! Please advice if Tannoy SGM/SRM 12 speakers with repaired surrounds worth buying? How much sound quality will decrease?
Or better to find unrepaired?
Unfortunately I can go and compare them directly in 1 system =(

I had Adam A7 over 4 years, but I bought a great amp and now need to buy a new passive monitors. Monitors are needed only to listen to music) Style is different - classic, rock, folk, pop...seems all styles except electronic.

I liked them better than the Genelecs at the studio .
Bass is very good too along with the good Eq options in the back I had some H108s and loved them .
Tannoys have the dual concentric design which allows you to have a huge sweet spot.

I recently came into a pair of these and am having trouble finding out much about them as they are not the bi amp type. I think they are the original model from 1982-87(?). These are the best speakers I have ever owned and am also looking for what type...

I can tell these speakers have a lot more to offer get flamed for this, but in my opinion a preamp can only detract from sound quality or add detract from sound quality or add coloration....
But they sound amazing even with what I am using.
