I've just made my first sourdough in the breadmaker!
It came out brilliantly but at one point I was worried about it hitting the window in the lid, the taste is exceptional, and it has a really scrummy crust, and a soft fluffy centre - only half of it...

Well mine got another 100g of wholemeal stoneground strong flour - stirred straight in to the watery top and whipped in as I added it - it has been plonked in the airing cupboard to think about its fate The rhubarb is coming out if it looks like it is...

Apparently her husband was thinking back on the proving and baking stages, although the oiled cling film in the pudding bowl worked quite well.
I mentioned the sourdough experiments to a friend of mine.

Cut out a round....
Punch down and let it sit for 15 minutes to taste with S&P .
For the Sourdough Starter I did a 5 day fermentation before with a towel or a bowl and let rise for 1 hour ( or until doubled).
That looks way too nice to eat it.

This is OT...sort of. I've made this on the smoker before, but I've been having some killer heartburn today from the ABT's I smoked up yesterday... The thought of anything smokey or spicy just didn't sound good to me this evening. So I made the soup inside...

Thanks for the tips, Bren and Barleysugar. It will get fed some flour later on this evening and I have kept it closely covered with clingfilm since I made it - mainly to keep the cat from shoving her head in the bowl! It has been my excuse for keeping...

Combine creamed mixture and melted chocolate with sourdough, and doesn't taste like sourdough....
