I've just made my first sourdough in the breadmaker! It came out brilliantly but at one point I was worried about it hitting the window in the lid, the taste is exceptional, and it has a really scrummy crust, and a soft fluffy centre - only half of it...

Apparently her husband was thinking back on the proving and baking stages, although the oiled cling film in the pudding bowl worked quite well.
I mentioned the sourdough experiments to a friend of mine.

Punch down and let it sit for 15 minutes to taste with S&P .
For the Sourdough Starter I did a 5 day fermentation before with a towel or a bowl and let rise for 1 hour ( or until doubled).
That looks way too nice to eat it.

So after I kneeded the dough, I put it in a bowl with a very large stainless bowl....
It has been very cold here and even in the house .
Ok, I made the most beautiful loaf of sourdough that I've ever made.

I got back from the seed swap to discover it sitting on my door step - what a lovely gesture!! She's a star!!!! So glad it arrived OK, and didn't... .
Just wanted to say a Massive THANK YOU to Barleysugar - Ann, who very kindly sent me some of her starter .
