I have a 1916 Spanish Mauser, Civil was built on a Spanish M43 action, which is a 98 Mauser action.
I have heard that, but not from any original Spanish source.

93, 94, and 95 in 250 Sav, 300 Sav, 35 Rem, and maybe 257R with a 96 or a 98 when it....

There are several different configurations that qualify as "Mexican Mausers", some LR and some SR, some made by Steyr, some made by FN, some made by Brno, some made by Mauser, and some hencho en Mexico.

1. Spanish M43 8mm bolt action. All parts matching comes with cleaning rod and brass muzzle cover. Bore is excellent. Bluing is about 95% or better starting to turn patina. Crest is 1945 La Coruna. Stock has Spanish proof on the stock. $275 plus $15 shipping...

Gorgeous Spanish Model 1943 Mauser with 1953 La Coruna crest. Matching bolt and receiver with original finish. With cleaning rod. Bore is good, not worn with minor darkness.
