Does anybody need any special tools at DSCF? A lot of guys have tools for special use but may not bring them unless they are needed. If anyone needs a specific tool or tester, how about letting us know so we can pack it along.

I want to replace the rotors and pads on my '03 SE.
First, do I need to replace BOTH brake rotors or just one? I'm going to be changing both sets of pads.

What I am trying to tell you is that if you have the tools.
You shouldn't need any special tools, but they probably aren't going to know specific info.
With brakes, I would replace both sides at the same time .

Use a bit of wood when jacking to spread the load and not to damage the metal... .
Don't really need a seal driver but it makes it way easier! I normally just jack up on the front of the exhuast either on its side stand or using the rear paddock stand .

Besides the regular stuff, I've added a small roll of electrical tape and a few zipties to my pack. I also started putting the glue tube in the patch kit inside a similar length piece of old 700C inner tube to prevent it getting punctured from bouncing...

Has anyone accomplished the balance shaft replacement without the special tools listed.
I have the timing tools, some standard pullers, but none of the other special tools listed. The only one I'm really not sure I could do without is the crank pulley...

One thing Gray Tools has not done, is got into....
Tools is now considered a "industrial" tool brand; rather then something that in the past -- fantastic designs and pretty reasonably prices, when compared to tool truck options.

But sockets are the only tool it's fine to do as long as your careful....
The socket method works fine , just take the kind of mechanic that would normally con dim an idea like this .
Great, I have the tool now also, but in a pinch sockets work.
