My 3 yr old DS is just starting speech therapy through the school district. And I forgot to ask them after the evaluation if they do the services at our home or do we bring him somewhere... does anyone know? Also on average, how long did you child need...

From all the situations I personally know of, speech therapy through the school speech therapist, ....
My oldest and middle son both have had speech therapy for services 3x week.
That's where services will be provided.

The nursery thought she needed speech therapy as when she started there was a lot of echoalia present but mainly slow auditory processing. Still could speak average without conversational style and mostly with a robot tone. Fluctuated from say to day....

His speech is a lot better the days, lot of vocabulary, just hasn't developed of chelation.

Jake has been recommended for speech therapy, but it turns out Palmy is desperate for therapist (is currently advertising for two full time positions), and my dc worker seems to think there is a 16 week waiting list.

They put a kid in speech therapy if they can't pronounce things they count things....
She can't pronounce things she that are pronounced badly as words .
Referred to speech therapy because she has a legitimate speech issue.

Is there any way to convince my insurance company to pay for speech therapy for artic problems? They said they will only cover speech services related to a physical problem, such as cleft lip or palate. The clinic where I can take my child charges $10...

Not related to insurance, but your public school district may provide speech therapy for your child.

Speech therapy for DS age 6 starts back up Feb 13th :(
Really it's a great program, I just hate running to get to class 2x a wk. Especially not fun when big and pregnant. And oh once the baby gets here...ick. So today I am researching home speech therapy...

Maybe you could talk to the teacher about taking some work home so you only have to go once a week? get on currclick.com you can find alot of resources on this and to help you out .
