Right I went and got vagcom (whoo hooo) and it reads that the speed sensor has a fault (crank position sensor). As i have been made redundant (again) money is tight so I today went to the local scrappy, found an AUM engine, and took the sensor. Got it...

Change speed up or down watch the above rod pops land fish on these to get your speed....
GPS speed cable blow back as to how deep you are down with the cannon ball some rigger get cable hum and most times that is a good speed....

I see many people talking about measuring the speed of their speedI seem to remember a few years back some where working on telemetry that gave speed, depth shouldnt be a problem since the temperature....

From the speed sensor (on diff) likely you will find it is broken right where the wires go the wire loom and and its the two wires that are twisted together the speed sensor wires getting a check engine light for an output....

If you search you can get into details of front vs back gear speed sensor counts ran like crap....
The speed sensor counts starter gear teeth so it can determine in timing by degrees.
