Here are some power-related numbers for 120GB, 8MB, 7200 RPM drives used for upgrades. Spinup is peak, Seek and R/W are average.

No my problem was a matrix of 765Gb with 4 x 1Tb use my ears or fingers feeling if the disk vibrations.
