I recently purchased my first real welder, a Thermal Arc 181i. I am able to MIG/TIG/and stick weld. However, I also do gas welding and torching. The store-made welding carts seemed very expensive, and a bit flimsy, so I thought I would make my own. I ...

Brazing is nearly as strong as actual cast welding, but doesn't look as pretty to me.
We took it apart a few of castings.
Just welding 3/4 to 1 inch at a time and peening the weld.
And used 7018.

Completely takes off the anodizing and leaves raw clean aluminum in a few minutes .
Just used some the other day.
Zap it hard a few times and add spray can.
Nice sharp lanthanated tungsten, 195 amps and weld it.
Works fine.
