Smith K-frame grips: round or square?
I see the difference between round and square butts, but what is the benefit of one vs. the other? I've only used square butts. I can imagine a round butt might be helpful for CCW. Any other benefit?

A shriek was heard amongst the bushes by the Town Square. As the town rushed...

Was wondering what your preference would be for a set of finger groove grips for a J frame square butt? Mainly manufacturer, I've got my own material (wood) preference.

I'm betting....
S&W used to make this grip, in both smooth and checkered versions, for J square butts fine that way.
butt J frames as there are for round butts! I picked up a model 34 and the grip is just way too small to shoot.

Gentlemen,
Need your help on helping me determine if my Model 19 is a round or square butt?
I'm considering putting a pair of Pachmayr or other suggested target grips on the gun.
I recently was at the local Cabela's and was looking at the Pachmayr's when...

If it's a round-butt, the back of the grip frame....
If it's a square-butt, the back of the grip frame will come to a point.
Take the stocks off and look.
With those stocks and barrel, it's likely a square-butt revolver.

Is there both? If so, are they specific to a dash #? I'd like a NO LOCK, round butt , 2 1/2" bbl. Any help is appreciated.
