More often, I grate it into crumbs which I then freeze of olive oil to the dough helps keep the bread fresh, but I didn't know the theory behind it.
My bread does go stale, I rarely throw it out.
Is it better to buy a stainless steel bread bin or a wooden one,or will the bread go stale more quickly in the stainless steel one?

I think the bread goes soggy, If the bin has a seal it will keep the bread fresh for longer but I wouldn't worry too much if you buy commercially prepared bread because most of it has preservative....
I dont use bread bins, sorry.

My goal is to bake the bread that my kids use for their sandwiches, but my H reminded me that any homemade bread he has made is usually stale by the next morning, if not the end of the same day. Granted he made little effort to wrap it up or otherwise...
