Does anyone know about the performance difference running Windows 7 using the following.
1. Parallels
2. Parallels using a Bootcamp partition
Will the latter be quicker in general?

I'm curious for all your Mac users out there which virtualization software you use and why? I've been a VM Ware user for Windows for years and have been running Parallels on my Mac (mainly because VM Ware was in Beta when I got Parallels).

When you say "start up Parallels", do you mean that Parallels itself fails to fully open when just launching the Parallels app from the Mac Task Bar? Or do you mean that, after successfully launching the Parallels app....

And ftp at the same time? If you just use Parallels/IE to browse the site, will it time out also in the log (do that before you restart it).

Parallels team, please forward this suggestion to developers it was too fast to count....
But anyway, when Parallels is starting up, it spins the sleeping secondary HDD give user the option to disable that.

This system probably had a previous version of Parallels, probably due to bad permissions not all to shutdown; boot again, open the same VM window (guest OS start is not necessary), go to Help-Report.

Then, without closing the window, click Parallels Destkop menu "Help"->"Report a Problem...
Then click Start -> Run and execute to the window).
Please make sure that you are using Shared Networking.
