Is it possible to take off cover without removing motor.
Sweet thanks.
They look like this and go between the flywheel and the starter.
It is most likely that you need a starter bendix.
And see what's going on.

I believe they are 1/4 in.
The two primary bolts are 3/8-16 x 1.84 L and 3-5/8" L at the front of the starter to the side of the block.
Here is AMK's starter bolt set #B-5006.

Does yours do this?
press starter button,
starter motor turns and then there's about half a second delay and then the bike fires up.
It's always done this and always does start but i wondered if that's how it's supposed to be?
Any input gratefully received...

starter should be your starter motor, if you follow one of the wires, it should go back to your battery .
Someone said it wouldnt as its the Starter Motor and not the Battery.

Starter should turn motor over freely with current directly and quick to just pull....
This makes me curious...does yamaha list the normal unloaded draw of the starter motor voltage(battery)...then hook to battery.
And solenoid.
