If the Jets do pursue and end up signing Manning what can the Jets get for Sanchez in a trade? The situation is a bit different than when the Jets signed Favre. To make salary cap room for Favre the Jets had to cut Pennington. There is no immediate need...

All i know is cam newton (1st pick) is making ~5.5m a season and Sanchez (5th pick) is making ~15.
Bring in a viable backup who at some point is likely to win the starting job and put Sanchez.

Rodgers wasn't even starting his first 3 years, so you're as most QBs do and Rodgers sat 3 years.....
The Brees part is an ok point, but to expect Sanchez to become the player he is is a tad foolish.

If Carson Palmer can land 2 #1's maybe Sanchez can be a '2002 Pennington' type for us....
Many including myself might be leaning towards giving Sanchez a chance with a new to any of those teams its an absolute no brainer...

Tim Tebow is wasting no time and not waiting for OTA's and training camps to improve his QB skills. Here is a great example of why this guy has succeeded as far as he has. He has very limited throwing skills but he has made the most of them and the opportunity...

Unless Sanchez is willing to restructure and take a massive pay cut I'm leaning towards the idea he needs to get cut. He is single-handedly killing our cap situation the same way Chad Pennington and Dewayne Robertson did in the early 2000's.
