I'm working on lowering my cholesterol and I'm wondering if any of you are using cholesterol medicines like statins. Just wondering how it affects your strength/training if at all.

Statins are certainly getting some good press of late, I was reading an article yesterday that said many GP's take statins themselves ''The Pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity! MH turns 50 later this year - he won't....

Question popped into my head: What's the longest someone here has been on statins? Do we normally only take them for a period or indefinitely?

Meaning they must be constantly suppressed with statins? I too have been on statin's for more than it? Don't they (statins) lower your levels after a few months? Why would you need to take them permanently.

Thoughts? Horrified too And there are other studies which suggest statins may lower the risk pressure and cholesterol levels normal, I don't plan....

I too had been drastically reduced in my of Medicine about statins.
I too am now two years after quitting a statin, Lipitor.

Hi there, As you probably know there are many types of statins Some may of statins, and garlic and ginger and ginseng act as a statin without the side effects but i guess at the age....
