Thanks to @ Leon for this suggestion, I've now implemented it!
You can edit your mood and status right from your postbit (just about where your avatar is displayed) or from your profile, and you can view peoples mood and status in the same places.

I find that RTSs get me in the best mood for coding (thinking deeply, etc), while.
Edit, just play a game.
Can't recommend this enough.
This gets my creative juices going and gets me in the mood to work.
