Hmm...am I missing an official April 2012 Roll Call? If so, sorry! Just very excited about my April vacation to Cancun ! Who else is going, what dates and where are you staying? April 10-17 Riu Cancun -never been there so we'll see how it goes!

We drove up there yesterday. There is no gate nor is there anyplace to put one.
The OP is staying at Dreams CANCUN. You must be referring to Dreams Tulum. They have a gate and are an hour and a half south of the airport.
There is tons of stuff to do in...

We stay at the RIU nicer but the Caribe pool....
Very nice place, but the food was not all that .
What are your interests? Staying at the RPLA and Cancun you can walk there a few years ago for a week.
The Caribe but the Caribe is close.

I was just reading the tripadvisor reviews for the riu palace and someone wrote that her boy friend died there and that there was no investigation / does anyone have info on that situation?

While I did not see.
Quickly deleted, he was staying at RPLA but his death occurred at the Riu Cancun .
