Steam will sync your AppID folder....
2) Go back to the Cloud Sync Conflict dialog and click on "Upload to the Steam Cloud".
1) Go to Steam\userdata\SteamID\AppID and delete ALL the files in it, remote folder and remotecache.vdf .

The steam servers being down seem to only affect chatting and the store/updates.

Steam hogs a whole core on my macbook pro 15" 2011 on the "loading" into a....
I often can't access my backpack, I can't play on non-steam maps, certain servers always timeout I'm in a server though, the game runs flawlessly.

Just bought Sonic CD and Sonic 4 Ep. 1 together in the same cart. Tried downloading them promptly thereafter and I am met with this message:

Is there anyone else having issues downloading some games through Steam? It gives me this error every time I attempt to install any game, and yes, I have searched the forums before, and yes, I have switched through many the different servers in Steam....

I tried to reinstall steam, but got a "Servers are currently download Shogun 2: Total War Fall of the Samurai Closed Beta or Counter Strike: Source.
Update servers appear to be down.

So way back in December there was an achievement for the giveaway that required TF2, so i figured why not, its free. And hit download.
Finally after almost two months of almost 24/7 internet connection it finished downloading

If that doesn't work then check if the actual steam serverbrowser works, chances are in that case that....
Keep saving a different file version that the game actually is so you try to find servers of a different version than the actual game.
