I am wondering if someone could tell me how to determine the type of ram is without it installed in a pc. The only information available is the numbers on the actual ram itself. Is there a way to tell what type it is. If so please pass along the info....

Numbers on the stick it, so envision it, no stickers, we all have seen ram before right, so can and can't be used in a server.

Ok so i got my new g.skill sniper 8g 2x4 1333 ram sticks. Now my old ram is g.skill ripjaws x series 1333. Now when i put my new ram with the old ram my comp turns on for like 1-2 sec shuts off then restarts and does this over and over. ive tryed cycleing...

Also try booting with only one RAM stick and try it in all four slots to make sure none self in one slot to see if that's the case Have you also tried using one old ram stick and one new one old ram....

RAM sticks are in dimm1 and dimm3. They were in dimm 1 and dimm 2 before, so I switched, but still no dual-channel is listed in cpuz...

Just asked a friend with the same system and only 1 RAM stick, and he using GPUZ, because my graphics use RAM memory, which means GPU memory speed = RAM memory speed the same 30gb/s :x even....

So, I just got an Early 2011 MBP and upgraded to 8gb RAM myself.
Just wondering.. any suggestions on what to do with the leftover 2x2gb sticks?
I don't really have another computer that needs them. Is there a market for them at all?

You can also keep it, in case you ever have to send the MBP to Apple, as it can happen, they replace the upgraded RAM upon return with the original amount of RAM you purchased, as it can happen, they replace....

You don't need to twin stick for 2 low, and it won't help much for steering anyways.
