Anyone watching the stock market lately?
Inflation or inflation fears might be at least partially responsible for this. It would be interesting to be able to view historical price charts with the prices in terms of ounces of gold rather than USD.

Chinese stock market crashing?
If fuel prices keep rising a Chinese market crash or correction is probably inevitable. I think the developing world is much more sensitive to fuel increases than 1st world nations. Canada in particular stands to reap some benefits from the high prices. Although if a Chinese crash happens, it will likely cause some sort of dampening in fuel prices so it's a very intertwined relationship.
