If it was an ACH payment no it will definitely come out of your checking. However if it was a check I would talk to your bank right away to see if you can stop payment on it. source

Yes, the debt settlement company will advise you to stop making all your payments with creditors. If you kept making payments on your account, then their really is no incentive to settle even if that meant you being in debt for 30-40 years because their still making money and your not even paying them the principle. You will still get hit with late fees each month, but this gets settled as well. Your debt will go to a collection agency because the original creditor doesn't settle debt. Collection agency buys debt, usually pennies on the dollar, so they negotiate with the collection agency. Once they received it in writing, they ask you if its acceptable offer. Paypal has stopped or rather removed the option of sending payments through personal payments in India. The move was made to stop large number of personal payment transactions that flowed in to avoid paypal fees. So I guess, you will have to send in the payments again and paypal fees would be deducted from the amount. source

Why not put the idea to your mortgage provider as a proposal? You might achieve the same effect without messing up your record with them, and eroding goodwill that you might need in the future. source
