Hi, In DxOMark the D3x has 1,5 stops more DR than the D3s at ISO 100 (13.5 vs. 12.0). Can somebody please point me to a real world example of these two cameras where this big difference can be appreciated? I am interested since I expect a similar difference...

With this workflow, a 1.5 stop difference means you can lift the shadows by 1.5 stops more before for the D800.
In photography, think of the light as rain (a shower of photons). We are interested in the amount of rain we collect (the exposure). This water volume (exposure) depends on the rate or intensity at which the rain falls (the light level), the size of our...

stop) -> ISO12.5 (2 stops) -> ISO25 (3 stops) -> ISO50 (4 stops) -> ISO 100 (5 stops) = 4/1 Aperture = ƒ/4 The ISO difference from ISO100 is: 2.6 stops (ISO100-> ISO200 (1 stop....
Yesterday, 07:08 PM Can someone explain why the Red Epic-X MX at 800 ISO has about, from what I have heard, 4.5 stops of highlight latitude, whereas the Alexa supposedly has 7 stops of highlight latitude at 800 ISO? Also, what confuses me is my most likely...

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at reduser):
That at 800 ISO the Red Epic-X MX has about 4.5 stops of highlight latitude, and therefore about 9 it is the single tool that has the ability to stop time, record history, generate art, tell stories stops of shadow latitude....

At what ISO would the D3s start to approach the amount of noise on a D700 at ISO 1600? Not interested in D4_D800 or other hypothetical comparisons, save that can of worms for another thread...

I would say it's a solid 2 stops better than the D3/D700 in regards to high ISO clix its 1 stop....
The median opinion seems like anywhere from 1 stop to 2 stops previous experience.
Pretty much everything in this realm.
Does anyone else think that these higher ISO ratings are becoming a little cumbersome? I mean ... 102,400 or 204,800 ... really ... Why don't we think logarithmically, and call 100 ISO 0 SU (for sensitivity unit), 200 ISO would be 1, 400 would be 2, 8...

I wasn't aware) If that actual exposure at "base ISO" is clipping highlights, and 2) Approximately how many stops increases by 3 for every ....
stop system to the ISO value too.
Lower iso=slower shutter. But what happens to the aperature in this configuration? If a lower iso like 400 is used vrs. iso of 800 then the shutter speed slows down, but what happens to the aperature during this exposure; higher F stop# like 2.4 or a ...

Drop the ISO by 1 stop [half], lengthen the shutter speed ^^ If going from ISO....
You can do a mix of both i.e.
Jumping from ISO 400 to 800 is only one 'stop', so you either aperture).
The aperture may not change at all.
Have a look at: http://www.omuser.com/viewthread.php?tid=179813 Amazing up to ISO 25600

Darn I wish I hadn't looked at these! :-) God Bless and detailed at such high... .
Better ISO and about 1/3 stop better Dynamic Range than the previous cameras with the old sensor that these look so clean and detailed at such high ISO's.
Now since I sold my C-200 and got an A-300 on 1/11/2012, RIO 3D ISO will play the main movie in 2D when I use Simple BD only mode. I've tested alot more of my 3D Bluray ISOs and below are my results in 2D: Update on 1/24/2012: UP 3D (2009) UK release-...

Rio 3D gets stuck if my Rio 3D Blu-ray ISO (Full copy untouched) is mising any JAR files.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew how to set NEX-7 ISO to numbers like 640, 125, 160 or 1000. All that I'm able to see (shooting mostly aperture mode) are 100, 200, 400, etc. Are smaller ISO increments possible to manually select? Thanks

Unfortunately unlike the majority of enthusiast cameras it only allows you to select ISO at full stops eg 100, 200 and 1/3 stop....
ISO' the camera can select 1/3rd stops up to 1600 ISO eg 125, 320, 640, 1250 etc.
How much better at this conditions? ISO 1600 f2.8 1/50s Bulb light at home or restaurant, full body portrait. I expose 2/3s to the right so I do not get as much noise. 1 Stop so I can get like 5D ISO 800 results? 1/2 Stop? (I'm not using lightroom 3 but...

That fine a difference feeling is that....
1 1/2 stops or 2 stops? Somewhere in that range.
1 Stop so I can get like 5D ISO 800 results? 1/2 Stop? Clearly better than one stop.
The 5D I for 4 years; now two 5DIIs.
