I can't figure out a good solution for limiting the storage amount a user may access with his files.
In the application users are allowed to upload a limit amount of files. The limitation is based on total file size. I.e. a user might be allowed to...

If the file's too big, delete and let the user know they're out of space .
This also makes quota.
Then you can easily reject an upload when it exceeds their total storage.
In the database too.

I am only able to shoot it about once per year, and am looking for the best storage (and cleaning) solutions for my new Scandium Bobtail 1911SC.

Seemed to work for him, never....
Once per bag with a few of those desiccant packs, zipped it up and that was his solution to "long term storage".
Prevention of rust for long term storage, would be to smother in in your favorite gun oil.
