Then place a bit of soil on top, and plant .
You just put a straw bale on the ground(make sure for a couple of weeks.

Hi,
Does anybody have numbers of suppliers for Haylage and Large baled hay/straw. I am in need of a regular supply however can be limited to how much I can store dependent on what stables are free, so may be only to accept 1 of each at a time.

Most won't deliver if the order is only worth £25-£30 each .
I think most local farmers produce the larger bales of hay, straw and haylage and you will find the one bale, as and when you need it!...

Looks like I might be faced with dry lotting some cows this summer. Will use my carry over prairie hay for the main roughage, and probably going with some distillers byproducts to supply the energy and protein. Most of these dry lot cows will be summer...

Anybody near Wheaton, IL with a couple of bales of straw they would sell?? I'm on another forum and somebody in Wheaton is having trouble finding straw to mulch their garden with.

To me it's just as good as straw to hold moistureI used to live that-a-way years ago, and dang if I can remember where we went for straw big the garden is I suppose.
Of small square straw bales in the garden.
